Use the information in this approach to manage your devices for eDirectory™ or NDS® environment errors. EDirectory or NDS error programs are usually displayed in decimal numbers. Sometimes the application displays these rules with hexadecimal values.

Because the eDirectory database, and possibly NDS, is designed to be an unreliable database, it is normal to experience persistent, temporary errors. Don’t worry if eDirectory or NDS error variables are temporary. However, some errors will most likely persist until the cause of the error is corrected.

  • eDirectory and these NDS operating system error codes

Some eDirectory or NDS background processes or tasks require use or functionality while the operating system is on and eDirectory or NDS is running. These functions, such as communication contract servers, can return operating system-defined error codes to eDirectory or NDS. These error codes are then transmitted to the requester To a background process or eDirectory or NDS operation. In NetWare® 4.x, NDS settings can also generate error codes when the system is running.

Typically, all error codes for production applications launched from eDirectory or NDS have a terrible numeric representation, while all other management system error codes have a reassuring numeric representation. The numeric range for operating system code errors generated by eDirectory or NDS is -1 to -256, while the numeric range for operating system code errors is definitely up to 255.

To ensure backward compatibility with legacy applications, eDirectory or NDS returns a positive numeric program error instead of a negative rule error typically used by eDirectory or NDS. Therefore, any occurrence of an incredible error code in the range of 10 to 255 or -1 to -252 should be considered a comparable error.

  • Some malfunctioning eDirectory or NDS background processes and/or operations require the use or capacity of other eDirectory or NDS servers. For usedThese features, such as the bindery services, require the eDirectory or NDS server to actually act as an eDirectory or NDS client, where the server provides the functionality. Therefore, all of these functions can be called by custom error codes sent back to our own eDirectory or NDS background processes and additional operations. These error codes are generated by eDirectory or NDS whose client is integrated with eDirectory or possibly NDS (ds.nlm). eDirectory or NDS client error codes are in the range of codes numbered from -301 to 399 due (or FED3 to FDA6).

Other eDirectory or NDS error codes

Some eDirectory, possibly NDS, background processes or operations may require use or features only provided by other nlm™ programs, such as timesync.nlm or unicode.nlm. If one of these modules fails, it can be propagated to some ds.nlm. Unicode* and other errors in a specific category from -400 to -599.

  • EDirectory or NDS agent error codes

Error messages with numbers -601 to -799 (or FDA7 to F9FE) and -6001 or better are errors that occurresulting from how the eDirectory or NDS agent software communicates with the server through eDirectory or NDS.< /p>

LDAP return error when NDS login, password, capability, and address restrictions are set

    Done

NDS error: “Exceeded maximum number of connections or Q stn not server -217”

    Fix

The LDAP bind operation initiates a protocol session because the user is (ultimately) authenticated to the web server. The authentication process requires that a specific username and security password be passed as part of the situation. The server returns an After ldapresult that often receives and processes the binding.

LDAPResult contains three important numeric values: resultCode, matchedDN, and errorMessage. • The result code contains the LDAP error number; Your zero code will be used on the marketplace to signify successful completion of the process. If removed, that person has been successfully authenticated ification. • The corresponding DN is not actually used in the binding it performs; will always be the string to decrypt. • The provider of the error message is known. If the binding has not been prepared, the server MAY include an additional ASCII message body that indicates possible valid reasons for the problem.

If an NDS password is requested and authentication is not possible, LDAPResult contains additional know-how in the errorMessage. Also, the resultCode may be different from the standard LDAP code, indicating an invalid password. Developers may find this information useful in alerting the user to the reason for the lack of access. For example, an application can distinguish between a user whose account is disabled and a user who barely made a mistake when entering a password.

The following section describes the nature of the NDS passphrase restriction and the same result code and error message when the reader fails authentication.

    Restriction: none
Description: NDS has no account restrictions. À Instead, it reports the results when the user is in theWrong password is coming.
    result code: 49
errorMessage: Error: “nds authentication failed (-669)”

Restriction: Password expired, preferential entries remain
Description: The administrator has set “apply password changes” and the user’s password has expired. The number of preferential connections was limited for some time, but some remained the same. (Note: This is the best option. Authentication is always strong because the bind operation can start from any Adorn login.)
